Platelet Rich Plasma Injection
At Natural Medicine Clinic we have been doing prolotherapy and regenerative injection therapy for over twenty years and have taught many physicians how to perform these procedures. We have been cutting edge with the use of ultrasound guided injection and musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnosis of ligament and tendon injuries since 1996. We have been at the forefront of using autologous leukocyte and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection for rehabilitation of chronic and difficult wounds and injuries, as well as for the fastest and optimized healing of injuries in professional and amateur athletes.
We are proud to use the highest rated FDA approved point of care system for platelet collection, the SmartPReP2 System from Harvest Technologies. This system safely and reliably concentrates circulating platelets and growth factors from whole blood to over 500%. This results in a robust release of these healing growth factors as well as attraction of autologous stem cells to regenerate the site of injury. With this technology we have been able to help many patients who have failed conservative as well as surgical therapies.

We have applied PRP to virtually every part of the body including spines, shoulders, elbows, hands, wrist, fingers, knees, hips, ribs, ankles, feet, etc. with a 100% safety record and generally good to excellent results. The volume of PRP per treatment and the number of treatments vary depending on factors such as area of the body to be treated, extent of injury and degeneration, overall health and nutritional status of the individual. Average number of treatments is 2-4X with the end point being patient satisfaction. Documentation of healing with ultrasound may be noticeable as early as 1-2 weeks but does not peak for months after injection. We have successfully treated teens to nonagenarians, the sedentary to super fit, the seriously ill to the work-related injured. Until stem cell therapy is perfected, this is the best option to promote healing and recovery for most individuals.
