Natural Medicine Consultations
As a medical practitioner these days one may find a need or desire for
knowledge regarding natural medicine. Perhaps your patients have asked
you about the herbs and supplements they are taking and you may want to
know:
- Will these things interfere with (or perhaps enhance) my treatments?
- Is my patient taking a safe and effective dose?
- What are the possible effects/side effects?
- Or perhaps your patients have inquired about natural therapeutics they
can use in conjunction with your protocols and you would like to be able
to give them safe, accurate information. Or maybe you’re just curious.
-
- Our Clinic will offer consultation to licensed health care practitioners
regarding the use of natural therapeutics in the treatment of their patients.
This is a service that we are offering by telephone only at this time.
To set up an appointment for a consultation or to receive more information
about this service please call us at (503) 644-4446
Diagnostic Consultations
Aside from our general health care practice, the Acupuncture and Natural
Medicine Clinic also offers specialized diagnostic services for the evaluation
of neurologic and musculoskeletal disorders. These services are available
to Medical Doctors, Osteopathic Physicians, Chiropractors, and Naturopathic
Physicians.
The methods of evaluation that we offer in our office are:
- Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies, including somato-sensory
evoked potentials (SSEPs) and dermatomal somato-sensory evoked potentials
(DSSEPs).
These studies are outstanding for the evaluation of peripheral and central
neuropathies. We can evaluate nerve injury (carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet
syndrome), metabolic disorders (diabetes, B12-deficiency), systemic disorders
(MS), and much more. Studies can be repeated to monitor patient progress
and treatment efficacy.
- Electromyography. Can be used to evaluate a variety of myofacial syndromes
and disorders. We frequently use it to evaluate spinal nerve root compresion,
in which case it may be useful in combination with NCVs.
- Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. A fast, easy, and sensitive way to diagnose
and evaluate superficial soft tissue injury. We are able to find many types
of injury that are frequently missed by x-ray, but may never be sent for
an MRI or CT scan based on cost effectiveness. Ultrasound is inexpensive
and can easily spot injuries such as, tendon and ligament tears, avulsion
fractures, bursitis, tendinitis, joint effusion and more. This tool is
the ultimate diagnostic extension of your palpatory skills.
We are happy to answer any questions about our diagnostic services by
phone (see above) or by e-mail at consult@natural-healthmedicine.com
